about

This exercise is a superimposition of a twelve-tone row extracted from the first Exercise in Style (Notation) on the score of Anton Webern’s Symphonie Op. 21 (1928). In other words, the rhythm and the orchestration are kept from Webern's original score, while the pitches have been replaced by substituting all notes from Webern’s original row with a new twelve-tone row derived from the first exercise.
