Alan Terrill An amazing album. With a dash of folk accordian added to their usual mix, this is delicate and extremely melodic music, and although live, the sound is perfect and audience noise minimal. Favorite track: Ugler i Moseboka.

Nickie Harte Kelly Five piece RIO (Rock In Opposition) band from Norway, consisting of saxophones, keyboards, drums and various percussion, bass guitars, Chapman Stick, accordion, and trumpet. This is a live performance recording, with guests on accordion, flute and vocals, and the result is varied, quirky, and delightful. Favorite track: Berlinervals.

Dave Lynch On this engaging live set, Panzerpappa and guests lean into melodicism with both subtlety and drama, blending (mostly) instrumental Scandinavian prog and folk with touches of Canterbury and even a bit of Crimson-ish tight unison riffage. At times, it’s akin to Camel’s The Snow Goose, but with stronger folk textures, lyrical sax, and warm accordion accents. The album’s dedication to the great Lars Hollmer is fitting, and Hollmer’s classic “Boeves Psalm” provides a beautiful and heartfelt coda. Favorite track: Boeves Psalm.

Tom Landon This is a beautiful, poetic album. Maybe it's the Fjord-country location, but this shows a much more delicate, contemplative Panzerpappa (whose music I have loved from my first listen 20 years ago). The collaboration with local musicians adds a whole dimension - and the spirit of the late Lars Hollmer floats over the whole thing. Wonderful! A must! Favorite track: Stegagjelet.

What would you get if you pair playful and melodic avant-rock with lyrical folk music? Panzerpappa, a Norwegian instrumental prog rock band, wanted to find out. In May 2023, they teamed up with Rannveig Djønne, one of Norway’s leading artists on the diatonic accordion, to create an evening of rare musical encounters at the heart of Norwegian fjord country.

With the guest appearance of Silje Hveem Lofthus, a classically trained flutist, and Ola Mile Bruland and Veronika Hørven Jensen, two members of Panzerpappa side-project Mythopoeic Mind, the resulting concert met its purpose; becoming a musical intersection where ideals from different musical genres could find resonance (hence the name of the project, Skjeringspunkt, which in Norwegian means ‘intersection’).

Despite minimal rehearsal time together, the musicians managed to find common ground across musical barriers to create something new and unique. The concert was documented, with both multi-track audio and multi-camera video recordings, and will be available in digital formats. The audio recording will also be available on Limited Edition CD.
