We have occasionally played a live version of Koralrevens klagesang part III for two electric guitars and saxophone, which is close to the original version scored for two classical guitars and clarinet. This version of the tune, however, features piano, guitar, and saxophone. The re-orchestration was decided the day before the concert, and not really rehearsed. The reason for the sudden change was that only a few days before the release concert Anders chopped of a piece of his fingertip on the middle finger while preparing dinner. Although he was able to play bass for the concert (with some difficulty) he was reluctant to do the guitar part for Koralrevens klagesang part III, mainly because the thin guitar strings had a tendency to get stuck in the bandage on the finger. We still felt that the concert would benefit from the soft and mellow feel of Koralrevens klagesang part III, so we asked Gunnar, who was playing keyboards on the release, if he could try the guitar part usually played by Anders on the piano instead. It turned out to work nicely and the tune was included in the set as intended (with only one run-through), giving the audience a melancholy breather in the middle of the concert.
