Kamel uten filter [Saxon Village edition]

from Pappa Xmas' Box of Avant Delight by Panzerpappa

/

about

This is the second piece in this calendar that originates from the side project Saxon Village. Unlike the previous track, today's song was not performed at the Pestrottedans release concert due to very limited rehearsal time. Instead, what we present to you today is a demo recording done solely by Steinar. The soprano and alto parts are real audio recordings. Since Steinar doesn't have a tenor or baritone sax in his possession, these parts were programmed using the renowned Vienna Symphonic Library.

Kamel uten filter, dates back to the second Panzerpappa record, Hulemysteriet, and the title can be translated into English as Camel unfiltered, indicating either a camel ride or a pack of cigarettes. The sax quartet version is quite different from the original band arrangement featuring a Bolero-inspired section and sampled North Pole winds (from Soniccouture's Geosonics library).
