Frenetisk frenologi (for nybegynnere) [Live at Sentrum Scene 2007]

from Pappa Xmas' Box of Avant Delight by Panzerpappa

/

about

Panzerpappa had the fantastic opportunity to open for Magma when they visited Oslo in 2007. This track is a recording from that concert, a slightly edited version of the (at least thus far) longest Panzerpappa composition.

The gig at Sentrum Scene was done as a quartet. Playing without a click-track, the keyboard parts were either played hands-on by Steinar or triggered via pedals (if both keyboard and sax were required at the same time). This approach was commonly used by the band around that time, although not always as successful as in this case ...

This is also the first Panzerpappa performance where Steinar plays EWI (Electric Wind Instrument) which has later become a frequently used instrument on the band's tunes.
