Feel the Breeze, Bill? [Live at OsloProg 2002]

about

Recorded Live at OsloProg, Amatøren 2002.

Feel the Breeze, Bill? was written sometime in the late 1990's by Jarle, for an original line-up of violin, three woodwinds (clarinet and two saxophones), guitar and bass, and was heavily inspired by "Quartet"-era Bill Frisell. For Panzeprappa the instrumentation was changed to alto saxophone, guitar, Chapman stick and drums.

The title is a double entendre. First and foremost, it's inspired by a modified quote from Jerry Seinfeld's hilarious live comedy show "I'm telling you for the last time" (1998) - a recording of which was used in the performance as the "vocal part". And as a gift to all who shares a fascination for puns, wordplay and lingual trickery, the name of the song is also a quasi-anagram for the name "Bill Frisell"...

This tune was performed at one concert only, the debut-gig for Jarle and Anders back in 2002. It was probably too much in a pure jazz vein for the direction Panzerpappa was going at the time, so it was emancipated for use in other projects.
